Ray S. Ross, age 74, of O'Fallon, formerly of New Douglas, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2010 at the Cambridge House in O'Fallon.
He was born February 6, 1936 in Baldwin, Illinois, the son of the late Willie and Lilly McConachie Ross. He married Dixie Lee Robbs February 18, 1956 in East St. Louis. She survives.
Also surviving are 5 sons: Jay (Betty) Ross of Alhambra, Rand Ross of St. Louis, Ron Ross of Fairhope, Alabama, Timothy Ray Ross of Litchfield, and Richard Ross of Livingston; and 7 grandchildren: Jessica Ross, MD of Gainesville, Florida, Brian Ross of Chicago, Erica Ross of Springfield, Illinois, Adam Ross of Livingston, Nicholas Ross of Livingston, Brandi Ross of Litchfield and Ryan Ross of Litchfield.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Kenneth Ross.
Mr. Ross was a Production Control Supervisor for McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Madison Lodge A.F. & A.M 560 in New Douglas.
A gathering in his memory will be held at The Cambridge House in O'Fallon at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Cambridge House, Ray Ross Memorial Fund, 844 Cambridge Blvd., Apt. 300, O'Fallon, IL 62269.
