Ray E. Waugh, age 95, of Edwardsville, died at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born February 4, 1918 in Poag, IL, the son of the late John and Ethel (Schneider) Waugh. He married Martha Linenbroker in 1938. She preceded him in death on December 8, 1985.

He is survived by two children: Bob (Jan) Waugh of Edwardsville and Diane (Dave) Highlander, also of Edwardsville; five grandchildren: Deborah Heder, Michael Waugh, Jennifer Waugh, Lindsay Highlander and Bryan Waugh; and four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Dylan, Malachi, and Brianne. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded by one brother, Robert Waugh.

Mr. Waugh was an Alkalationist with Shell Oil. He was a WW II veteran of the US Army Air Corps and was an avid golfer.

Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
