Rita Marie Duncan, age 52, of Breese, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at her residence. She was born February 4, 1966 in Breese, the daughter of Mary Beth (Holthaus) Deiters and the late Herman Deiters. Besides her mother and step father, Dwight Shubert, Rita is survived by her husband, Bryan Duncan, whom she married November 28, 1986; two sons: Nathan (Ashely) Duncan of Breese and Alex Duncan of Breese; three grandchildren: Ethan, Mackenzie and Natalie; seven siblings: Tom (Jean) Deiters of Breese, Cathy (Stan) Wolfe of Beckemeyer, Larry (Darla) Deiters of Breese, Marylynn Hepner of Galva, IL, Julie Deiters (special friend, Steve Peters) of Breese, Fr. Jim Deiters of O’Fallon, IL and Gary Deiters of Washington, IL; a sister-in-law, Debbie (Greg) Meyer of Breese; a brother-in-law, Todd Duncan of Austin, TX; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her father, Rita was preceded in death by a son, Andy Duncan.

Rita was the manager of Dairy King in Breese and Trenton for many years. She was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, followed by a funeral Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will then follow at Buxton’s in Beckemeyer.

According to her wishes, her remains will be cremated. Memorial contributions may be given to Hannah’s Playground in Breese.
