Obituary

Susan M. Anderson, age 68, of Trenton, died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at her residence.
She was born September 27, 1951 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of the late Dwight and Imogene (Greathouse) North.

She is survived by two children: Jennifer Naumann of Lebanon and Matt Anderson of Wentzville, MO; three grandchildren: Aaron Anderson, Aidan Anderson and Cole Naumann; and three siblings: Nancy North of St. Louis, John North of O’Fallon, IL and Linda (Don) Webb of Chapin, SC.

Education was paramount in Susan’s life. As a lifelong elementary teacher, she believed that making children feel loved and giving them hope was of utmost importance. Furthering her own education was also a passion of hers. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Gamma Phi international educational honor societies at McKendree University. Her personal goal was furthering higher education and bettering herself through lifelong learning. Her family was most proud of her going back to school and graduating college at age 42. As important as that was, her kids and grandchildren were her biggest blessing. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and rarely missed a game. One of her fondest memories was her time spent with special companion Dr. Roger Rubemeyer in Naples, Florida. Spending time at the beach was her favorite place to be. Mom was strong willed, always spoke her mind and stood up for what was right even if it wasn’t always popular. Integrity and honesty were key. Her family is heartbroken and she will be greatly missed.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at Kalmer Memorial Services, located on Rt. 50 between Lebanon and O’Fallon.
